Per Enoksson operates Hikki AB, that designs durable products for bathing, relaxation and recreation in the outdoors.
I was assigned to develop a new website for the company, and in connection with it, I designed guidelines on typography, graphic elements and colors, for a unified graphic identity on the web as well as in print. The first choice was to use Futura as the identity font. The choice of Futura stems from the idea that it reflects Hikki’s own design; simple, clean lines where the underlying industrial structures – the geometrical system of the letters and the tubs use of raw corrugated aluminum – is clearly visible in their design. The font is combined with irregular horizontal lines as separators in printed materials and on the website, to convey the sense of nature which is a crucial part of the Hikki brand.
I have also worked simultaneously with the design of manuals, brochures, leaflets, posters and other printed matter for Hikki, as well as contributing with music from my side project Norberg Sounds in different product films, and produced digital drawings for new products.
Distinctive typography set in Futura and irregular horizontal lines reflect the meeting between nature and design that Hikkis products are known for.
The third album with my one-man folk drone orchestra Nattavaara Rocks. A digital album in physical form, or an album for the 21st century, if you will.
In the autumn of 2015 Västerbottens-Kuriren launched their business news website Affärsliv24. I was asked to develop a logo, guidelines for typography, color schemes, icons and layout.
